Why I created Great Southern Sip

For more than fifteen years, I’ve worked alongside the producers of the Great Southern — in vineyards, in cellar doors, at tastings, and behind the scenes. Over time, I’ve come to understand something deeply: this region is defined not by scale, but by people.

Many of the wineries here are small, independent and family-owned. They farm carefully. They craft thoughtfully. They don’t always have large marketing teams or national distribution networks — but they have integrity, skill and an unwavering commitment to quality.

I’ve seen the quiet dedication that goes into these wines. The early mornings. The risk of vintage. The decisions made season after season. And I’ve always felt that their stories deserved to be told more widely.

Great Southern Sip wasn’t created to compete with producers — it was created to stand behind them.

To curate with respect.
To represent the region thoughtfully.
To connect people beyond our corner of Western Australia with wines that truly reflect place.

As someone who holds a Diploma in Wine and has spent years immersed in this region, I feel a responsibility — not just to sell wine, but to showcase it properly. To honour the landscape. To support the people behind the labels.

This platform is my way of giving something back to a region that has given me so much.

And at its heart, it is simple:

To help others discover the Great Southern — one producer, one story, one sip at a time.
